Everydae is Sundae

Or it will be, soon. My apologies to the two or three readers who have glanced at both blogs, but I'm about to begin the process of shutting down Carmel Everydae and moving its contents gradually over here. The reason? I didn't have the energy to keep up two blogs and actually try to get readers. And if nobody is reading, it would be easier to use a diary. I never really did anything to announce the other blog, so few people wandered over there. So if you are one of the few who was curious enough to see what I was posting over there (mostly money savers, helpful hints, and other Heloisey type things, I apologize for reposting here what you've read there. But the plus side is that it will increase the frequency of posting here.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled laundry.

Arte y Pico

I don't see it, I'll start by saying that; but it's awfully flattering. Sharon at The Bird's Nest awarded me with the Arte y Pico award. Flattering, especially, because I am so inspired by her posts so frequently. (She probably doesn't realize this, because more often than not I have my hands full of baby when I hit the blogosphere, so I don't comment much.) All I can say is thank you!

Here's how it works:
1. Choose 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award based on creativity, design, interesting material, and overall contribution to the blogger community, regardless of the language.

2. Post the name of the author and a link to his or her blog by so everyone can view it

3. Each award-winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award.

4. The award-winner and the presenter should post the link of the “Arte y pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

Calling Light Bloggers

I had this idea I thought I'd share. Do you who blog ever feel like it's a little bit solitary? I know I do. Sometimes I wish I had a more interactive experience in the blogosphere. I see others sharing a sense of community, and occasionally I feel left out; and I don't have time, with homeschooling, a new baby, and a hubbie working two jobs, to chase after all the blogs I enjoy.

What I was thinking is that I'd like to start a group venture, an email group for a few bloggers who would like to share posts and discuss them, and whoever else wants to follow those blogs. The blog posts of maybe three to five bloggers would automatically post to the email group, and would be immediately available for discussion, not just "comments."

If you might be interested in such a group, please let me know. What I'm looking for is bloggers who do not post heavily... blogs that average less than one post a day. The blogs should also have the sort of posts that read well in text only, though that only needs to apply to the majority of posts. It's a chance, basically, for people who are not "big" bloggers to get their posts read.

As for non bloggers, yes, I would like them too. It takes more than just bloggers to keep a discussion group alive. Anyone who is interested in this, please contact me at carmelsundae (at) gmail (dot) com. I really hope this idea can take off!
